Saint Nicholas Altar Boys (Acolytes)

(Under the advisement and spiritual guidance of Rev. Father Nicolaos H. Kotsis)

2006/2007 Advisor

Andreas Stathopoulos

The Holy Altar of our Church represents the throne of God. The acolytes, in assisting the priest in our Divine Services, represent the angels serving our Father in Heaven. Rev. Father Nick uses this relationship between the role of the angels in

Heaven and the role of the acolytes at the Holy Altar as a framework to educate our young men in the faith.
At Saint Nicholas, boys who are 10 years or older are welcome to participate in this important ministry.

Altar Boys must be on time each Sunday and participate at the special services throughout the year.
A young boy who wishes to be an acolyte serves a training period, during weekday services and Saturday Vespers.
Once fully trained, he is assigned to a Sunday group.
