Dear Parents: J.O.Y. (Junior Orthodox Youth) is a group, which is in place in other parishes throughout the United States. It has guidelines set by our Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America. We look forward to bringing J.O.Y. to our parish. We will be using the Archdiocese guidelines to create our Saint Nicholas J.O.Y. group so that it will be both fun and exciting for our children. It is our hope that this J.O.Y. group make our children feel closer to one another and bring them a sense of excitement about their Orthodox faith. Our children will feel they are a vital part of our larger Church community. Our children will develop friendships and bonds with other children in their Church community that will hope fully develop into lifetime friendships. We also want our children to feel comfortable with their faith and learn more about what it means to be a Greek Orthodox Christian in both word and in deed. We have an awesome task ahead of us and the support of the parents is crucial in providing our children with a positive learning experience. We look forward to guiding your children and hope that you will also become involved in this very crucial time of growth and development for your child. The J.O.Y.
