GOYA — Greek Orthodox Youth Association — ministers 7th through 12th graders in the church. We aim to connect our teens with each other and with God, through monthly meetings and special events. We conduct charity events, like shopping for families at the holidays; fundraising events, like our yearly themed brunch for the parish; and events just for fun, like Holiday Hoops and other sports competitions with other parishes, or the GOYA game night, which we are considering making a monthly occurrence! We are also closely related with Levendia, the church’s Greek dance group, which performs at the Greek Festival in the summer and other competitions throughout the year.
We offer leadership positions in the form of officers, who help ensure that we are for GOYAns, by GOYAns. Officers are voted in at the beginning
of the year and work closely with our adult advisors and Father Nick. Our current officers are:
President: Harry Kotsis
Vice President: Marisa Savas
Secretary: Isabella Apone
Treasury: Helen Kolias
Corresponding Secretary: Melina Bekiares
Media Specialists: Vicky Kotsis & Demitri Tsilimingras
We meet the second Sunday of every month (with exceptions for holidays) right after the Sunday service and coffee hour. Prospective members are welcome to stop by the conference room anytime during our meetings, and we’ll help you get registered to attend events (registration link above). We’d love to see you there!

Nineteen GOYAns and advisors from St. Nicholas Ann Arbor traveled to Tarpon Springs, Florida to attend Epiphany celebrations from January 4-7, 2024. The GOYAns visited St. Michael’s Shrine and St. Nicholas Cathedral, marched in the Epiphany procession, and observed the blessing of the boats and the annual cross diving. They received blessings from Archbishop Elpidophoros of America and Archbishop Nikitas of Great Britain. They enjoyed fellowship with each other and GOYAns from local parishes, and put on their dancing shoes for two Glendis! Everyone had a very enjoyable and memorable trip.
