To promote charitable, benevolent and philanthropic outreach; to preserve the sanctity of life and family; and to perpetuate and promote our Orthodox faith and traditions.

THIS MONTH'S PROJECT: BLANKETS AND HATS FOR BABIES!

Knots of Love Website
We are starting a new parish-wide project for those of you who enjoy knitting and crocheting--making preemie blankets and hats that will be donated to both Mott Children’s Hospital and to St. Joseph Mercy Hospital at the end of March. With the weather being cold outside and since we are spending more time indoors, we thought this would be a great project. If you are interested in crocheting blankets, click the "crochet baby blankets" button to email Mary, and for knitting blankets and hats, click the "knit baby hats & blankets" button to email Vangie. For guidelines--sizes and yarn preferences—click the button "knots of love" to visit the Knots of Love website. We hope that you will be able to participate in this outreach project--just for the babies!

Philoptochos Patron Saints

Saints Cosmas and Damian
November 1 is the Feast Day of Saints Cosmas and Damian, the patron saints of the Ladies Philoptochos Society.

Cosmas and Damian were born of wealthy parents and educated in the best schools receiving degrees in medicine. They were apostles of Christ and physicians of both the body and soul, who pledged never to accept payment of any kind for their services.

They healed thousands through the miracle of prayer and medicine. Ladies Philoptochos Society members strive to make a difference in the lives of others, following the example of our patron saints.
